Taiwanese composer Shao is the founder of Bp Music Studio, where he focuses on music creation and production. He graduated from the Composition Program at National Taiwan Normal University, studying under Ching-Mei Lin, Gordon Shi-Wen Chin, Wen-Pin Hope Lee, and Chia-Lin Pan. Since his early years in music school, he has cultivated a solid background in composition, arrangement, and piano performance. His music is known for its delicate, narrative quality and its warm, healing tone colors, shaping a sound world that lies between classical music, visual media, and theatre. As an independent music creator, Shao has collaborated extensively across projection mapping, animation, film, and theatre, crafting original music and sound design tailored to diverse media forms. He is also active in arranging and adapting concert repertoire, with works ranging from chamber ensembles and string orchestra to piano pieces and cross-disciplinary instrumentation. His travels through Peru and Bolivia have become a unique and important source of inspiration in his recent works. Shao is currently involved in several cross-disciplinary projects, including: “Taipei Fantasia” — commissioned by organist Hsiao-I Yu and scheduled for world premiere at a Polish music festival in July 2025. New work for organ and saxophone — to be presented at the National Concert Hall (Taipei) in April 2025. Film score for the short film Our Ocean Leave — serving as composer for the full score and original theme song. He continues to accept commissions, performances, and teaching engagements, exploring narrative possibilities of music across various media.
